The aim is to create a motivating environment for a creative application of new technologies and hence to promote the exchange and implementation of innovative ideas, novel technologies and applications. For this, pleasant social structures and a corresponding infrastructure are essential.
The laboratory is a high-tech workshop in Vienna that will be available to young technophiles for the realisation of innovative ideas in robotics. Many people need to have unhindered access to the infrastructure before they can apply themselves to the subject and therefore maintain dynamic development and introduce new impulses. In the laboratory, trainee researchers can find support from experienced scientists from the Vienna-Bratislava region for the realisation of their own ideas.
The laboratory will be adequately equipped and operated within the framework of the R&D project in the robotics sector (electronics, IT, mechanics). Alongside the servicing and maintenance of the equipment, the operation will also include user support from specially-trained experts.
The laboratory will be open daily for research and development on specific robotics projects. In addition, it will be open at least one evening a week for all interested parties, especially young academics and the talented. In particular, the evening is for the exchange of project ideas with professional support.
Happylab - Offenes Robotiklabor in Wien
The "Virtual Robotic Lab" is operated in the Slovakian University of Technology and provides all project partners with Internet interfaces to develop and to test location-independent robotic projects. As a result, real robots can be used jointly in the virtual space. The "Virtual Robotic Lab" enables affordable cross-border collaboration in joint scientific projects.
